Celebrity Portrait

Create a portrait of a celebrity ( chosen out of a hat) using materials that best describe that celebrity

I created a 38"x50" stonehenge portrait of "Honey Boo-Boo" out of Pixi-Stix ( her favorite candy) onto which i superimposed a portrait of her as a pageant queen by puncturing the stonehenge. I created a slideshow of images of "Honey-Boo-Boo" which was projected onto her candy image, revealing the pageant queen.

I wanted to describe the negative and social aspects of growing up to be a child star, and how often we project our own views on how a child should act.

Glory

Part of a series of drawings based on a single word, I created these three "drawings" based on the glorification of consumerism.

Shown above is a reliquary that contains three drawings. One is the latest "x-box 5000", one is a hand gun, and the other is pre-packaged organic carrots. Each of these items you can buy in a store, wait on line for hours to get, and spend a lot of money on.

Wall Transformation

For my final project, I responded to the prompt "Wall Transformation" by creating a personal and intamite installation. I wanted to create a piece about my struggles with words and how they get translated. Often times the things we say ( or do not) can build a wall between the people we care most about.
